MBC consists of a team of highly experienced classical dancers who have developed their skills at some of the most renowned companies and schools in the world, including The Australian Ballet, The Paris Opera Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, the Australian Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School.

The Melbourne Ballet Company believes everybody should have the opportunity to experience the magic of world-class Classical and Contemporary Ballet, so [as well as] in addition to presenting seasons in several capital cities, we also include a large number of regional performances and workshops in our 2015 Tour. With a focus on building new audiences for dance by touring to regional areas and making it accessible to nearly every regional Australian, the Melbourne Ballet Company is helping to shape the future of dance in Australia. Many thousands of children are now learning to dance throughout Australia and in the past few years MBC has already presented workshops to over a thousand students. Based on their past success MBC has already scheduled some 38 workshops in 2015 -These workshops deliver a message of fitness, creativity and innovation steeped in tradition as well as discipline and outstanding work ethic.

Support from individuals and corporations is essential to develop artistic excellence and secure the future of the Melbourne Ballet Company as one of Australia’s leading classically based dance companies. Together our carefully selected dancers, choreographers and designers have strived to achieve a style that is uniquely our own.
