Young Adult Service Corps
Donativo protegido
Dear Family and Friends,
I have amazing news that I'm sure some of you might know. I have been accepted into the Young Adult Service Corps (YASC). YASC is a missionary program through the Episcopal Church that integrates young adults into the Episcopal/Anglican communities around the world. I have been asked to spend a year in Costa Rica.
I have been given the opportunity to work at Hogar Escuela Program in San José, Costa Rica. Hogar Escuela is a program that offers mothers who, due to socioeconomic circumstances, cannot afford child care. Services provided include meals, day care, academic assistance, agricultural activities and workshops on self-esteem, physical and emotional abuse, domestic violence, drugs, and sexuality. This program provides comprehensive attention to boys and girls who are most in need.
It is with my greatest hope that you all are with me on this journey. There are two ways that you can support me; the first by simply keeping me in your thoughts and prayers and the second by sponsorship. Both would be sincerely appreciated.
For one year of service:
$27 -covers a day
$192 -covers a week
$768 -covers a month
Any size of a contribution is appreciated.
I have discerned for quite some time now and am ready to begin my journey, with help from you all. I will be writing a blog while I am away and want to invite you all to read and respond to my blog posts!
