Silvia's Cancer Treatment Fund

I have often said "Time Changes Everything" and this time it has not changed things in a positive way. My dear friend Silvia Santos is grasping for her only chance to regain her health.

In August, 2014 at age 33 Silvia was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She immeditately received chemotherapy, and learned that because of a genetic varient she was not able to metabolize the chemo.  It depleted her energy and compromised her quality of life.  The only option was surgery to remove the tumor, which happened in November last year. Since then Silvia has struggled with infections, and in particular has had to have nephrostomy tubes inserted into her kidneys for external drainge. She has been hospitalized on several occasions with digestive problems. She has lost 50 lbs.

Throughout this time Silvia has remained very positive and has continued to operate her salon, even with her health challenges. As always, she finds time for her friends and family.  You will always see her wearing a smile.  Her faith is keeping her strong and she is hoping for a miracle.

When I attended medical appointments with her, I admired her courage.  She would digest the information and constantly stay in a positive place with the intention of beating the cancer.  

On July 6, 2015 she was very devastated to learn the cancer has returned in her stomach and intenstines. It is an aggressive cancer. We are all rallying behind this beautiful lady to help her realize her dream of going to the Oasis of Hope, Cancer Treatment Centre in Mexioco. This is the only viable option to manage her condition based on her past experience with chemotherapy.

We are reaching out to everyone who can assist us in our quest to give Silvia a fighting chance. We want her to go to Mexico as soon as possible, and our support will not only enable her to do this, it will also minimize the financial stress during this very difficult time.
