Be sure to read the whole story, I have a surprise at the end!... (or just scroll to the bottom if you so choose)
Hello, my name is Eric Weston Davis, and I have recently been accepted into The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, or AADA. The school has campuses in New York and Los Angeles, and I will be attending in LA. In case you have never heard of this school, it is a prestigious 2 year program set out for aspiring actors like myself. Some of the alumni of this program are: Paul Rudd, Danny Devito, Robert Redford, Adrian Brody, Jessica Chastain, Lauren Bacall, and many others. In case you would like to know more information I will attach a link to The Academy website here:

Moving from a quiet, suburban area outside of Atlanta into the craziness of Los Angeles is a huge, scary step for anyone to take. However, I am more than up for the challenge and will find any sort of way to make that happen! I have never been this determined to accomplish anything before in my 24 years of life and hope to inspire those who have dreams to take the risk, make 200% of the effort just to make those dreams come true. The acceptance into a school like this has been incredibly honorable to me, and I am truly humbled by AADA into believing in me and accepting my application. This is why I come here, to Go Fund Me, and hope for my peers to believe in me as well and help support me on my journey to become great. Acting is THE social career; the opinions of the people matter, the support of the community matters, and with that said, I do need your help! With the prestige of AADA comes a lot of tuition, living in one of the biggest cities of the country brings a lot of bills, and so on. If you are interested into seeing some of the financial challenges, I will attach a breakdown AADA gives in expenses for the entire school year.

Thus far I have received $8000 in scholarships, more than enough loans, but still face many challenges. I have created a budget for myself for living expenses, and the road trip out there (yes I will be driving there!)
My monthly budget in terms of food, rent, car payment, bills, etc. is: $2500/month. The road trip out there will take 3-4+ days with stops in New Orleans, San Antonio, and Pheonix, and I am estimating $500-$800 for gas, room/board and food.
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts will help me, not only to become a much better artist and actor, but influence me to become a better person. From the small amounts of acting I have done so far, it has helped me let go of pain and fear that I have and just be. Be in the moment, be prepared, be understanding, and finally be fearless. Through AADA, they will push me to my limits and breaking point, just to build me back up, and to get what I want: to act full time.
I have 3 goals in mind by creating this page and heading to AADA:
1) To prove to myself that I am capable of doing great things.
2) To become the best person I can be.
3) The most important one: to inspire those who are too scared to chase after their dreams, and aid them into believing that anything is possible!
Well I guess I have 4 goals. The forth one is to give back to those who have helped me!!
If I reach my first goal of $5,000 I will give out:
To the top three contributors: Each will receive a $50 gift card to a store of their choosing.
AND
Two randomly selected winners $25 gift cards to a store of their choosing.
If I reach my ultimate goal of $10,000 I will give out:
To the top three contributors: Each will receive a $100 gift card to a store of their choosing.
AND
Four randomly selected winners $50 gift cards to a store of their choosing.
For those who are not able to support financially, you can still help! So please, please, please share to your network and lets' get the ball rolling!!
