Labor of Love Backpack Program
Donation protected
The Labor of Love Backpack Program was started two years ago by the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency to help provide needed food to school children throughout the State of Connecticut who face food insecurity.
Many of our state's hungriest citizens are children who have no ability to gain access to needed food on their own.
The Connecticut labor movement is committed to helping feed these children and their families and donates generously; however, to continue to expand the program and to help more children, we need help from individuals.
The program runs each year from October to May and provides 5 healthy meals plus snacks for the child and their family. This school year we will be providing food to two schools in Hartford, but would like to expand to Hamden, Bridgeport, Waterbury and Bristol.
$25 feeds a child for a week
$100 feeds a child for a month
$1000 feeds a child for the school year
Any amount helps! Help us make sure that children don't go hungry in Connecticut.
