Imagine life without Electricity!

A big thank you for reading this!
Electricity is a human right that is very essential for life. Yet in 2015 that people can now pay for vacation on the moon in western worlds, millions of people in continents like Africa, Asia and South America don't have access to electricity which is fundamental to modern life.
I was born and spent 26 years of my life in Africa. During these years, I never experienced a full day of continous electricity supply. My first experience of continuous 24 hours a day electricity supply was here in the United States after I migrated.
Presently in Africa, only electric irons or charcoal irons are commercially available to people. This requires people to iron with electric irons days in advance before they plan to wear the clothes, or use charcoal irons that make their clothes stink or taint. Bear in mind that firing up a charcoal iron requires reasonable amount of effort.
I am currently a Mechanical Design Engineer in New York. As a way to give back to my roots, I along side with my friend Chintan Sheth, a Mechanical Engineer developed a prototype product that tackles one of the multiple electricity related problems the developing nations are experiencing. We call it Iron Rhino, #IronRhino.
It is a natural gas powered clothes iron that functions exactly like electric irons. It is auto ignited and flamelessly burns the natural gas. Natural gas was chosen because of its abundance and affordability.
Iron Rhino is very clean and will make clothes Ironing easier for people.
The goal here is to raise money for making molds that will be used to mass produce this iron.

Video showing prototype Iron Rhino being used to iron a dress shirt.
Loading the natural gas canister into the iron.
Auto Ignition of the Iron. Requires no matches
Picture here shows the effort required to fire up a charcoal iron. Looks very stressful!
