Zander Tallman's Olympic Trial Fund

Hello everybody and thank you for visiting this page!

I am starting a campaign to raise funds for my goal of qualifying for the US Olympic Trials. I am estimating that my track and field related expenses will average about $1000 a month over the next 7 1/2 months, thus the $7500 goal!

While I write seeking your support, I also acknowledge the tremendous love and support from my family and extended community. I have had countless supporters who helped me get to where I am today: My parents dedication and support has been constant - they have flown to California, and driven from Michigan to Nebraska, Iowa, and Virginia Beach to watch me run. I would also like to thank my grandparents, my brother Andrew, all of my other family members, the Cranbrook community where my track career started, and most definitely everyone at Washington and Lee who has and is continuing to encourage me.

My number one focus for the next 7 months is to train for the Olympic Trials in the 800m run. My mission is to become one of the top 32 runners in the country to qualify for the Trials. In order to do so, I need to compete in meets across the country to post a qualifying time. My travel expenses to compete in the races can be expensive, especially airfare and lodging. I would greatly appreciate any support you can give, even if it is just words of encouragement. I am really excited to do everything I can to reach my goal of qualifying for the trials and I will provide updates on my progress as the weeks go by.

Raised in Grand Blanc, MI, I attended the Cranbrook-Kingswood Upper School and graduated as an accounting major from Washington and Lee University (W&L).  Since then, I received my master’s in Accounting from Wake Forest and currently work part-time for W&L’s Career Development office.

My collegiate highlights as a sprinter on the W&L team include:

- 8 Washington and Lee school records

- 14 time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Champion

- 5 time NCAA Division III National qualifier

- 2 time NCAA Division III All-American

- 1 time NCAA Division III National Champion (400m)

- 2014 Pres Brown Most Valuable Athlete award winner

Thank you again for visiting this page--I will be updating this page as much as I can!

Sincerely,
