Housing for Homeless Youth

Donation protected
As a Child and Youth Worker I have  seen first hand the need for safe, supportive and affordable housing for youth who find themselves homeless. Youth in our community have been asking for help with ensuring they have a safe place to stay where they can access supports and services to help them navigate this stage of life.
As a business owner, also, Gary and I believe that it is our social responsibility to support our community, and especially the youth in our community.
Because of this, we have purchased a building in Sarnia (the old ABC Daycare) and will be turning it into 7 self-contained apartment units to house up to 11 youth, at a time, who are experiencing homelessness.
The funds collected will be used to help with the cost to renovate the building and to outfit the apartment units with all necessary furniture and daily living needs.
This project is so important to me because, as a youth, I experienced homelessness because of a situation I had no control over. It was a very scary time of life for me. Fortunately, I managed to find relatives that agreed to take me in. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many youth who find themselves homeless.
We are currently working with the County of Lambton to make this dream happen. We are pushing forward and hope to be starting renovations  this spring.
I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and your support as part of that village will enable us to bring this dream to reality.
We would be grateful for your support and I know the youth who end up living in our safe space will too.
