Iron Mountain Ranch Llama Rescue & Fire Protection

Donation protected
March 2019 Update - almost out of hay and lacking funds to do much more other than maintain a basic feeding regimen at this point. I may have no other option than to set them free again this spring. They have other care related needs such as the nail trimming, that would typically be done on a regular basis, but I am unable to perform this or any other vet/health related task due to lack of funds.

December 2018 Update - This past weekend (12/1/2018), I led an effort to herd and corral the 4 infamous Llamas of Tunk (3 females, one male). These guys have been roaming around upper Tunk Valley mostly on their own, for the past 2+ years. Their owner, affectionately known as Llama Joe passed away two summers ago. Sadly, Joe's brother and family was unable to care for them, and after the llamas wandered down towards the county road last week, the Sheriff was called and a 72 hour ultimatum issued. I agreed to help out as best I can as I enjoy the llamas and they seem to like spending time up on my land.

At this point, I have successfully put up a holding pen/corral that should be able to get them through the winter. I have a covered area for them to sleep on a bed of hay that is out of the weather. They have been in there going on three days now and seem quite calm, content, and happy in their new environment.  I have a 700lb round of hay in their pen and am feeding once cup of corn per llama per day along with a few apples (when available) as part of their regular meal regimen. I don't have a viable solution for offgrid trough heater or air/pump stone to keep a water trough from freezing, so every morning I take out a few 5 gallon buckets of water every day. Last night it was 15F well below freezing, so any water left out will eventually freeze.

I am trying to raise some money to help offset the costs associated with the following:
1) Building a proper pen/corral,
2) Providing enough food - hay, corn, apples, mineral lick, etc.
3) Setting up a water trough that won't freeze (heater or air pump?)
4) Emergency/vet care - would like to put a small emergency fund together in case I need to call a vet.

I would GREATLY appreciate any donations of time, money, resources, or knowledge to help support this effort. I will setup a FB page, Youtube channel, and social media accounts for the llamas so people can follow their progress.

Thank you all for your support.

Brian Daniel Eisenberg here. I'm on a mission to build a sustainable lifestyle and off-grid ranch, farm, garden, studio, and shop on the 40 acres of land I bought after volunteering to help fight wildfires in Tunk Valley, Okanogan County, WA in August 2015. I moved on from a 20 year career in software to pursue my passion for cannabis and work in the recreational cannabis industry where I serve as the veritable "Wizard Behind the Curtain" for the House of Cannabis (Tacoma | Carlton | Tonasket).

I am stonemason-in-training (thanks to @instagrahamski ), just getting started building a pyramid out of rock, stone, mortar, and sand and have plans to build a large scale pyramid-like structure that resembles something between an Earthship, the Sydney Opera House, and the Egyptian pyramids. This is a 20 year project.  I am the Wizard Behind the Curtain at The House of Cannabis™ , am a jack-of-all-trades, coffee addict, cannabis guru, software and hardware hacker, DIY tinkerer, biologist, artist, chef, skipper, and stonemason in training.

I've visited ✈️ 25^ countries and hope to visit at least 25 more.  I'm passionate about tech and am building a platform of solutions that I plan on bringing to market called the Smart Offgrid™. I would like to raise funds to help cover the cost of additional water storage, fire hoses, pumps, and a foam kit and to better prepare myself and my property (along with my neighbors) for the next time a wildfire threatens the Tunk Valley.
