Our dear sister, aunt, daughter, and single mother of precious, twin 4 year olds, Cindy Jordan, is battling an aggressive form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML with the FLT3/IDT Mutation). We, Cindy’s family, have been incredibly thankful for the many offers of support throughout this difficult, overwhelming journey that began on March 7, 2016. Until this point, we hadn’t really known what to ask for but it is clearer now as we have become more knowledgeable.
We are in serious need of donations to fund in-home caretaking for Cindy, support that is not covered by her medical insurance. Following the transplant, Cindy will spend approximately 25 days in Stanford University hospital, followed by approximately 80 days in an apartment located within 20 minutes of the hospital. During this period of recovery, Cindy will be highly susceptible to infection and transplant rejection. She must be near her transplant team in case of emergency and for regular lab work and check-ups. She will need someone knowledgeable about transplants to prepare meals, clean, and drive her to appointments. Cindy will be in need of 24 hour care for 10 weeks.
