A note from the editor-
First, I would like to extend my gratitude from the overwhelming support I have experienced from the Hollins community in regards to my efforts in reviving the Spinster. I'm so lucky to be a part of this wide, beautiful, and supportive community. Second, I understand there are a number of questions about the history of the Spinster and why it became inactive during the last academic year. As a rising junior, I am still finding out some of those answers myself. So far I have come to understand the Spinster disbanded due to a heavy lack of funds, lack of leadership, and lack of staff. As we all know, Hollins women tend to load themselves with innumerable responsibilities and causes. Unfortunately the Spinster came last on the list of causes in the community. While the 2013 senior class did receive a yearbook from the Hollins Columns, the 2012-13 academic year was the first year in which the entire campus did not have their memories captured in a yearbook. Please help me in my efforts to bring back this incredible tradition that has been on campus since 1898. Without funding, we are extremely limited in our efforts.
