Get Bella to NubAbility!
Donation protected
UPDATE: Goal has been MET! Every dollar donated that exceeds the cost of expenses will be donated to NubAbility for other campers and future endeavors!
As many of our friends know, Bella was born missing her radius on her left arm. This congenital limb difference has not stopped her- even for a second!
We have had the fortune to come across many groups who have helped us over the years. The Lucky Fin Project is one and NubAbililty is another! NubAbility hosted a baseball session in St. Louis last year and Bella had a BLAST! She felt so at home with other limb-different kiddos and coaches. She learned adaptive techniques for playing softball and her confidence grew in leaps and bounds. Seeing older coaches who have shared her experiences was not only encouraging, but life-changing for her!
This year, Bella wants to go to NubAbility - which is a three-day sports camp in Illinois this July. The camp teaches a range of athletic skills for limb-different children and bolsts camraderie and life-long connections.
The trip will be costly (and rightfully so; click on the link to see all that is offered - plus lodging, food, gear, etc.) - and although we are prepared to contribute to the cost of the trip, it was not something we put in our family budget this year. I was hesitant about asking for gifts/donations from family and friends, but ultimately, this is something that Bella will benefit from for not just a mere three days - it will alter the path of her life. There, she will be able to experiment with different athletic endeavors, all while feeling safe and comfortable with her fellow limb-different peers and coaches.
Henry and I decided that asking our friends and family for help wasn't a plea for a handout, but rather a request to gift Bella an opportunity at this experience. With her birthday around the corner, this will be a most fantastic present and surprise for her. EVERY LITTLE BIT WILL HELP AND BE MOST APPRECIATED. I wish I could articulate just how much these types of events help Bella thrive!
The entirety of what is raised will be used to cover the expenses for the trip.
Thank you all so much in advance for helping to make this dream a reality for Bella.
