Dear Friends and Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to you during this difficult time. As many have heard, our beloved father, Franklin Johnson, recently passed away at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of his family after a hard battle with Cancer & Covid.
As many of you know he had some rough years leading up to & the years since getting sick with covid, were the hardest. Franklin (Dad) faced numerous medical challenges on top of the ones he already was struggling with, including serious illnesses such as COVID, broken hips, Cancer and more. These struggles led to continuous rehabilitation in multiple centers, hospitals, and nursing homes, in his attempt & goal to get healthy & back living on his own again. This also led to making it impossible for him to qualify for any life insurance after his had been lost, to assist in helping us with any resources to ease this financial stress. As a result, we are seeking your support to help us give our father the dignified farewell he deserves.
In addition to the funeral expenses, we are faced with the financial responsibility of arranging for his burial and a headstone to mark his final resting place. As many of you know I’ve been traveling back & forth from Texas to Kansas to be my dad’s caregiver, attending to various medical emergencies, surgeries, doctor appointments, and supporting both my parents and our family, to the best of my abilities. Financially, this has been a significant strain, as I was doing this for both my parents these past few years, to be by their sides as often as I could be. I did this until this past March for my mother when she passed away, but still continue until she truly gets her final resting day & headstone placed in her memory & honoring her. I have continued doing it for my Dad & until his final resting day, I will until we get his headstone in place in his memory & honoring him. We were able to pay for her funeral expenses & additional remaining expenses with the funds she was able to leave our family; however, we have been unable to get a headstone for her, and it breaks my heart to see her resting place unmarked without a headstone almost a year since we laid her to rest. I don’t want this for either of my parents, so that is why I’m creating this fund & asking for help. I know we serve a big god & he always leads us, if we listen & after much praying this is where he has led me to face the fact that I need help and to show some of my current struggles & vulnerabilities with you all during this already difficult time to ask for help. We wish we were able to provide all this for Dad, without making this request, unfortunately, we aren’t able to do it alone & could use your help, support & prayers to make this happen.
We kindly ask for your assistance in contributing to Franklin’s Memorial GoFundMe account. Your generosity & generous contributions will help alleviate some of the financial stress associated not only with the funeral expenses but also the costs related to the burial and headstone. This will allow us to honor his memory and legacy with the respect and love he deserves. Any extras contributions received will be applied towards a headstone fund for my mom to give her the same wish as I want for Dad. So, they both have their final resting places marked with their headstones showing the memory of each of them & honoring them for everything they did for our family all our lives.
Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and meaningful to our family during this difficult time. Your support will not only ease the financial pressure but helps by allowing us to provide him with the final farewell we all wish for him to have, it will also serve as a testament to the love and care that surrounded our father throughout his life.
Thank you for being a part of our lives and for considering our request. Your kindness and support are cherished as we navigate this journey of grief, remembrance, and the preparations for our father's funeral coming up this Sat. Feb. 10th, and final resting place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your continued love, strength, support & prayers to my Dad, myself & our family, not just for today but for some of you it has been many years & others my entire life. Thank you & God Bless!
With Heartfelt Gratitude,
Crystyl (Franklin’s Daughter) & Family
