John Stone's fight against cancer
Donation protected
Mark and I are starting this page to help his sister Elizabeth, and her husband John. We love them, and pray that we can take away some of their financial worries, and allow them to stay focused on his treatment. Anything that you can donate would be very helpful, and we would be forever grateful. I know one day they will pay it forward, and help someone else in their time of need. This is their story.
In October of 2015, John was diagnosed with stage 2b testicular cancer. He underwent immediate surgery, and had a very aggressive chemotherapy regimen which made him very sick, and weak. He was out of work for 5 months. Together they remained strong for the kids Kailee, and Danica.. In January, John had his follow-up scans and was given the news that he was cancer free. They started to celebrate living again, and even started the process of hopefully owning their own house one day. Last month John woke up in excruciating pain, and they headed to the hospital. The doctors told them that his cancer had returned, and it was far worse this time. It is a recurrent germ cell tumor. The chances of this cancer recurring are extremely rare (less then 4%), and his only treatment option is to enter a clinical trial at Sloan Memorial Hospital in Manhattan. The treatment will be extremely aggressive and will last 4-6 months depending on how he responds. Liz was told by the doctors that she will need to stay with John during his treatment. She will have a roll out bed in his room, and then in between treatments they will stay at the Hope Lodge next to the hospital in case he develops complications. They are heartbroken that they will be separated from the kids during this time, not to mention the financial devastation of them both being out of work. The money raised will take away some of the stress of paying their bills, and taking care of the kids. They need to focus on the long battle ahead, and getting John cured. Thank you to everyone who is supporting John, Elizabeth, Kailee, and Danica in this fight. Family is everything.❤️
