Karl Hill's Transplant Recovery

Hello friends, Karl Hill needs your help. Many of you know Karl as a hard-rocking musician who played in bands such as Government Issue and The Factory Incident. Some of you know Karl as a friend or colleague from the Washington, D.C. area where he lives, works as a software engineer, and volunteers for Smithsonian American Art Museum’s The Renwick Gallery. Unfortunately, what some of you may not know is that Karl over the last two years has battled liver failure and end-stage liver disease—life-threatening conditions that required a full liver transplant.
I am pleased to report that he recently completed a successful transplant and is currently in recovery. This process has been emotionally and financially draining and now we are asking for your help.

Karl maintained a full-time job during the process, but doctor visits and procedures exhausted all of his paid leave. His doctor says he’ll need six months or more of recovery time before he can fully heal, return to work, and resume normal activities.

We established this fund to help Karl return to good health and financial stability. Your assistance will go toward medications and other crucial living expenses.
