Christie Mitchell Medical Fund
Donation protected
After a two month struggle with random, relentless & unresolved health issues, including 2 hospital stays, Christie Mitchell has been diagnosed with a meningioma. In non-medical terms that means a brain tumor. As you can imagine this news was devastating and terrifying. Christie is scheduled for a 5 to 7 hour surgery on August 22nd. Her recovery period is expected to be from 6 to 8 weeks, during which time she may need to learn to walk and talk all over again. The good news is this tumor is believed to be benign and her medical care team is top-notch.
If you know Christie at all, you know that she has a heart of gold and has dedicated her life to helping the underdogs. She is notorious for working on a sliding scale to ensure legal help for those in need and putting in the extra hours to help her clients in crisis. She is self-employed and the sole income provider for her family of four. Being self-employed means having extremely high healthcare premiums, deductibles & co-payments; as well as no paid medical leave and an expected 2 months of lost income. This doesn't even begin to cover the out-of-pocket costs for major brain surgery, an extended hospital stay, and months of rehabilitation and therapy.
As someone who loves this woman and her family, I am asking for anyone who has been touched by the kindness of Christie to help support her in her time in crisis. Your monetary donation will help cover her excessive medical expenses and help keep the law practice she has worked so hard to build stay afloat despite this *#&%! brain tumor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my friend...
