THE SYNOPSIS:
After years away, Julie returns to Lake Village to bury her grandmother. After the wake and at odds with her only living relative, Julie is left with nowhere to go until Frances and Harold Allen, friends of Julie’s grandmother, offer to host her as she sorts out her grandmother’s final wishes.
But there is something strange about Harold and Frances and even stranger about their home, the old and infamous Allen House. At night, strange sounds, cold whispers, and an overall sense of dread emanate from the walls, particularly from the locked room at the end of the upstairs hallway.
As her time in the Allen House draws on, Julie begins to think there must be more to the Allen family than meets the eye, and as she slowly unearths the history of the house, she realizes that her hosts are anything but perfect.
THE LOCATION:
The key setpiece for The Perfect Host is the infamous Allen House in Monticello, Ark. Called “One of The Most Haunted Houses in America” by many publications, not only has it inspired three successful novels and numerous non-fiction publications, the Allen House has also been featured in national television programs including:

Fabled Motion Pictures was founded in 2005 by Derrick and Alaina Sims with the goal of focusing on material about the American South. The Perfect Host: A Southern Gothic Tale is an original story and screenplay; production is scheduled to begin in January 2016.
