This December 3-6, 2015, the USA Weightlifting American Open Championships is being held in Reno, Nevada. The American Open is the final opportunity for athletes to set a total for the year, including the chance to set an American Record in their age category.
In Norfolk, VA, the Crossfit Accolade Barbell Club is home to several competitive lifters, 4 of which have qualified for the US Open after rigorous training and hardwork.
In the US, being a competitive weightlifter is a financial struggle. Athletes must pay their own way to travel and compete in national events and there is little funding or sponsorship available.
Please join us support these very talented and extremely hardworking athletes compete in this important competition.
