Yellow Bag Project
Donation protected
A few years ago my family was going on a long road trip through several states. After being on roadtrips previously, where we had seen many people in need, mainly those who are homeless; my daughter, Drew, wanted to make bags to take and hand out to anyone in need on our journey. The bags had snacks, water and some toiletries. When we saw a person in need, a couple of us would get out of the car and take them a bag oftentimes with some money too. Depending on the circumstance, we would talk with them for a bit too. Then one year we weren't going on a vacation; so Drew started thinking about how we could still help the homeless community. God told us to bring that mission back home. We gathered a big group of folks, many who were youth, to deliver bags to people in need in our own community. Each time, people came together and shared in prayer, funding, donations and time. A close friend of mine had some money she had received when her father passed away, so she had some nice sturdy drawstring bags made. We now use those to hold all the things in the bag, and the people have the bag to keep. Since most of the people are homeless, they love getting the bag to hold some their personal items. If you would like to donate funds, this is the site to do it. If you would like to donate supplies or time, we would love that as well. If you would like to pray, we are extremely grateful for prayers too. God called us to love each other as He loved us, this means all people in all circumstances. We cannot possibly do everything, but we can definitely do something.
