Your Rights to Opt Out of the Sale and Sharing of Personal Information:

Under the CCPA, “sharing” is defined as disclosure of a consumer’s personal information obtained from the consumer’s activity across websites to third parties for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising (or targeted advertising), and “selling” is defined as the disclosure of personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration. When you interact with the Services, we collect information, including device information, pages viewed, links clicked or shared on social media and other similar information to try to make a user’s experience simple and meaningful. As such, when you visit our Services, our web server, third party business providers, and/or the social networking services integrated into the Services, use cookies or other electronic technologies (such as web beacons or pixel tags). We use some of this technology to provide you with advertisements for our Services when you visit other websites and to provide us with analytics regarding our Services.

Our use of third-party analytics services and online advertising services may result in the disclosure of online identifiers and other information for cross-context behavioral advertising and thus may be considered a “share” and may be a “sale” of personal information under the CCPA. The categories of information “sold” or “shared” for advertising may include (1) identifiers; (2) donation information ; (3) device, internet or other electronic network activity information; (4) browsing history; and (5) general location information.

We may also “sell” information about you to certain partners such as nonprofit organizations to help them understand your likely interests in making charitable or other donations and the potential size of such donations, starting peer-to-peer fundraisers, signing up for recurring donations or other similar indicators.

You have the right to opt-out of GoFundMe selling or sharing your information as defined under the CCPA. To opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information through tracking technologies, please click here or click the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of your page. If you choose to use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal you will be opted out of online, cookie-based sales or sharing of Personal Information, and will need to activate the signal for each browser you use. If you are a California consumer and wish to opt-out of the offline sale of your Personal Information, you may exercise this right, by clicking the Your Privacy Choices link.

We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of children under 16.

Other CCPA Rights: California residents also have the right to receive information about the financial incentives that we offer to you, if any. Please see the “Your Choices” section of the Privacy Notice for information about the additional rights you have with respect to your personal information under California law and how to exercise them. If you are using the Services, you may also exercise rights by (1) visiting the “Your Privacy Choices”; or (2) emailing us at privacy-requests@gofundme.com.

Retention of Your Personal Information: Please see the “Retention of Your Information” section of the Privacy Notice.

Do Not Track Disclosure. Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in certain web browsers. While we have taken steps to honor DNT signals for our websites, because there is no industry-wide framework for DNT signals, we may not honor all browser-initiated DNT signals. To learn more about Do Not Track, you can do so here.

Shine the Light Disclosure. The California “Shine the Light” law gives residents of California the right under certain circumstances to request information from us regarding how we disclose certain categories of personal information (as defined in the Shine the Light law) with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We don’t disclose any data that would meet the requirements of this law.
