Wendall Gill worked in the same McDonald’s in Lexington, Kentucky for over 40 years. Everyone in town knew his face because he would greet everyone with a shy but warm smile. One day, when Todd Oldfield went into that McDonald’s to get breakfast, he could tell something was wrong – Wendall’s smile had disappeared. It turned out that Wendall had recently lost his wife of 68 years. She was the love of his life. After learning that Wendall was now facing difficult times, Todd felt called to help in some way. The result of his actions blew an entire community away.
