Buddy Project

When Gabby Frost was a teenager, she noticed that many of her friends, both online and in real life, were dealing with serious issues like self-harm and suicidal thoughts. She offered them her support in the best way she could, but she wished there was an easier way for young people to get connected with each other and talk about their interests, and also their struggles. Rather than wait around for this to someday exist, Gabby decided to create it herself… and Buddy Project was born.

@buddyproject is a nonprofit organization that pairs up teenagers based on interests so that they can have someone to reach out to – they’re nearing the 250,000 buddies mark! Gabby herself is just 21 years old, but she is the CEO of Buddy Project and runs everything herself. She’s received tons of awards and honors for her work in mental health advocacy.
