Leah’s Eyes

Born with Incontinentia Pigmentia, a rare genetic condition, 7-year-old Leah Lamerbtus is legally blind. “She is very limited in what she can see unless her nose is to it,” said Leah’s mother Kim.

When Kim and her husband adopted Leah at just 3-years-old, they knew it would be a long road ahead, but they could have never imagined how difficult it would be to watch their daughter struggle with schoolwork, making friends, and every day activities.

When the Lambertus family discovered eSight glasses, eyewear that can magnify up to 25 times, they knew what they wanted to do to give Leah the best chance at living a “normal” life. Unfortunately, high tech eyewear also comes with a large price tag that the family simply could not afford. That was when Concetta Lozito, Leah’s one-on-one aid, turned to GoFundMe to help make the Lambertus family dream a reality.
