Prom for One, Prom for All

For some highschoolers, prom is a night they look forward to for years but sadly not everyone can say the same. Many LGBTQ+ youth in America never get that fairytale prom night for fear of ridicule. Imagine walking into your prom and being ridiculed for the outfit you’ve chosen to wear or for who you’ve brought as your date.

“With prom king and queen, there is no prom queen and queen, there is no king and king. You don’t get the chance to say this is me, this is who I love,” one student said.

A group of students from Lee County, Florida decided to take matters into their own hands and ensure their fellow LGBTQ+ classmates felt special, safe, and true to themselves at a dance made just for them.

Watch the video above to get a glimpse into what became one of the best nights of these students’ lives!
