When Glenn O’Neill’s 4-year-old daughter, Eliza, was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome in 2013, he and his wife, Cara, were devastated. They found that there had been some research done around a possible treatment, but no funding was available for a clinical trial. And so, Glenn set out to do the impossible: raise the $2.5 million needed to fund the trial, all by himself. He had no idea if it was possible but it was the only chance they had to save Eliza.
