Cece Rocky Mountain Record Attempt!

Donation protected
Hello my name is Jeff Camp. I would like you to meet my daughter Cecelia Camp, Cece for short. My goal this year has been to support my daughter in every way possible and to help her take her climbing and athleticism to the next level.

In the past couple years Cece has really taken off as an athlete. She has accomplished a lot in such a short amount of time. This summer I purchased a 2003 VolksWagon Eurovan and we hit the road for weeks at a time.

Growing up my family and I traveled for 2 months across the US and that stuck with me till this day.

It was amazing being able to share that experience with my daughter as I truly believe this is something that will shape her future and help her continue to grow with a firm understanding of our planet and the effects we can have on our enviornment.

Through all our adventures over the past couple years she has had her mind made up that she will climb the Diamond before she turns 9.

The Casual Route, 510a, is an incredible climb at high altitude on the MOST famous wall in Colorado. This is the easiest route on the Diamond, but that doesn't mean it's not world class. The route includes incredible climbing with awesome exposure and high alpine weather.

This multi pitch climb is located high in the Rocky Mountains on what is known as The Diamond. The Diamond is the sheer and prominent east face of Longs Peak and named for the shape of the cliff. The face has a vertical gain of more than 900 feet (270 m) all above an elevation of 13,000 feet (4,000 m). It is a world-famous alpine climb!

When Cece completes this climb as far as we known she will be the youngest climber in the world to complete the route. I believe this is part of what drives her as she is a very loving yet super competetive young girl.

The climb requires a full 3 days and a rest day before the climb.  The first day after we arrive in Boulder will be a Prep Day. This will be a 10-hr day doing a link up of routes that will mimick the Casual Route, and may include multiple 5.10 pitches and mostly a lot of 5.8, and some rappels.  After the Prep Day we will allow our bodies to rest and recover for a full day making sure to get all the nutriants she needs. Day 3, Saturday, will be a full day of hiking with a 3000+ elevation gain to base camp at which we will eat and get to sleep early. Day 4, Sunday, is to from here on out be known as Diamond day haha. This day we will be awake close to 4 AM in an attempt to be the first on the route and down in time to catch out plane home.

Our current schedule is as follows...

Sept 7th Fly DTW to DEN 5PM est
Sept 8th Prep Day
Sept 9th REST DAY
Sept 10th Hike to Base Camp
Sept 11th Diamond Day
Sept 11th Fly home in the evening
Sept 12th Monday morning School and tons of stories!

Our guide works with the accredited Colorado Mountain School and is a certified AMGA guide. The American Mountain Guides Association is the USA's "sole representative to the 21-member International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA), the international governing body responsible for guiding standards and education around the world".  Less than 100 guides in the US have earned certification from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA). The Colorado Mountain School has more IFMGA guides on our roster than any other guide service in Colorado.

The money from this campaign will directly fund Cece's climb and nothing else. In the event we go over our funding goal the excess funds will be put into an account that will help fund her competition season and costs associated with coaching and travel costs.

Completing this goal means so much to my daughter and I need your help to make her dream come true. After having our van broken into the day after we returned home from Yosemite much of our climbing equipment was stolen. One of our Alpine jackets alone cost over $200... of course I never expect to see any of that gear again but it makes it all that more difficult to make this a reality for her. I know she will be grateful for every dollar donated.

We love each and every one of you and every little bit helps. Please share this campaign as it all brings me one step closer to making this a reality for her.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
