Save The Karns Pool
The Karns Lions Club purchased what is now known as the Karns Lions Park in 1967 and opened the swimming pool in 1969. It has been a Karns landmark providing decades of family-friendly recreation, swim opportunities for adults and children with special needs, and summer jobs for the community, with proceeds going back into the non-profit to serve those in need. However, the pool is showing its age with decades of wear and tear and desperately needs repair for it to safely open in the future.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, the Karns Lions club has been limited in ability to conduct many fundraising opportunities. Thus, we are asking the community to help us with the necessary repairs which include:
- Sandblasting the pool to remove paint
- Patch broken pieces of concrete
- Remove and replace the tile around the perimeter of the pool
- Resurfacing the pool
- Paint depth markers around the pool
The Karns Lions Club has received multiple bids for this work, including reduced rates on materials from several suppliers. The repairs will cost approximately $100,000. We need your help! Can you help us reopen to the community? With your donations, we hope to continue to provide a place of safe summer recreation for decades to come!
