Coop's Story
Donation protected
Nicholas "Nick" Alan Cooper was a caring, compassionate, fun-loving, generous and kind son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate, godson, co-worker and the most incredible friend! After a tragic car accident, Nick battled heroically for 12 days in the ICU where he was surrounded by loving family and friends and an exceptional team of nurses and physicians. On July 31, 2018, Nick only 23 years old was taken to Heaven. We know that Nick felt the love, hope and prayers surrounding him. He is now our Angel amongst us!
Immediately following his death, we learned that Nick was an Organ Donor! As his family, we were overwhelmed with grief but extremely proud of the choice he had made to give the gift of Life!
Nick's Heart was placed with a 53 year old man in the Midwest and we hear he is doing well!
As we struggle to cope with the loss of our awesome son and brother, we continue to be uplifted by the outpouring of support our family has received since his death. Thank you all so much!
In lieu of meals, gifts or flowers, we have established this GoFundMe page to honor Nick. Nick will be remembered for his smile and happy go lucky attitude. He loved his family and friends and losing him has left a void in all of our lives. Nick had a life long love for sports, especially his KC Chiefs and golf. He had a strong brotherhood with KU Delta Chi Fraternity and was a wonderful mentor to the less fortunate. These are the passions that Nick held close to his heart and we plan to use the funds raised on this site to honor him in a way in which we know he would be PROUD and anyone who knew him or knows our family would be proud as well!
We are amazed at how much money has been raised in such a short time! And, from our broken hearts, we can never say THANK YOU enough! Hugs to all of you! Brent, Marty, Libby & Davis
