Daija's College Journey

My name is Daija Marie Lindquist, I am 19 years old and was attending Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY.  I finished my first semester with a 3.5 average while playing for the womens soccer team. I was planning on coming back for the Spring semester until the financial aid I was supposed to be getting never came through. I used FASFA because I am living on my own and have no home of record. Being a military child has been great and being able to go to some places was fun. One disadvantage was not being able to use a G.I. Bill and not being able to claim residence anywhere for school. Financial Aid took my special circumstances papers and told me that I would receive enough to pay for Out of State tuition for the state of New York. I depended on them to get my through my first year of college but they sadly let me down. Most of my tuition is paid off but I cannot come back to my school until my housing is paid off which is almost $5,000. The result of this was having to move to Maine where my family recently moved to. I have been trying to get  a job here in Maine but haven't had any luck.  My goal is to get back to Onondaga Community College and finish my education where I have made many life long friends and it truly feels like home. Any donations I can could get would be greatly appreciated.
