Ari Magder died on April 27, 2002.
He died, in his sleep, from pneumonia.
He was 28 years old.
He was my son.
Ari is on the left, with his sister, Aviva and brother, Joshua.
The idea of a dog sanctuary was conceived as a lasting legacy to honor Ari.
Ari Had A Dream, Inc was incorporated in 2015 and received its non-profit status in 2017.
The search for properly zoned property has has taken 3 years but, great news.........
as of January 2, 2018, "Ari's Place" has a campus!
Our team is so excited about the fact that our dream is coming true! We are working feverishly to repair and re-purpose the 2 buildings and to landscape various areas of our 5 acres for doggy play.
Even our Medical Director (on the right) is becoming an expert painter!
But, of course, it all takes money and now we need YOUR HELP to open the doors as soon as possible for the dogs that are waiting.
PEACHES' STORY:
Miss Peaches (in the photo) had a loving Mom and was living a wonderful life when her Mom had to move to an assisted living facility and Peaches could not go with her. No one stepped up to adopt her as she was a senior with diabetes and 3 malformed legs. The rescue that was holding her, contacted the Executive Director of Ari's Place and the rest is history. Miss Peaches lived a happy, full life with her family and friends until she passed away, peacefully, in January, 2018
Ari's Place is a 5 acre dog sanctuary in peaceful Sky Valley, CA. It is a project of Ari Had A Dream, Inc., a federally registered 501(c)(3) animal welfare charity, #47- 5461735. We are a volunteer-driven organization that depends on the generous support of private donors. All donations benefit the animals.
OUR PROGRAMS:
Our CARE 4 LIFE program provides lifelong, loving care for canine companions of elderly dog owners who can no longer care for their pets.
Our MILITARY MUTTZ program provides temporary care for canine companions of military personnel on deployment to combat zones.
Funds are needed, urgently, to:
installing more safety fencing to keep out wild critters;
purchase of necessary equipment and supplies. such as beds, food / water dishes
