On Monday July 1 2024, Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Carriacou, an island which is part of Grenada. Beryl hit land as a Category 4 hurricane, with winds of up to 150km per hour. It is now a Category 5 storm. Several people have died as a result of the hurricane and hundreds more homes and businesses destroyed.
