Azaylia Foundation GoFundMe Hub

Welcome to the Azaylia Foundation’s hub on GoFundMe.

The Azaylia Foundation was created in August 2021 in memory of Azaylia Diamond Cain by her parents, Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee. GoFundMe has been part of Azaylia’s story from the very beginning, helping her family raise vital funds for life-saving treatment. Launched in 2021, the Azaylia Foundation has supported children fighting cancer by helping them access
treatments that are not readily available through the NHS. Alongside this, we work with cancer research and medical institutions to help accelerate the availability of new treatments in the UK.

The children we support typically have rare cancers and often have relapsed, significantly reducing treatment options and survival rates. These cases frequently require specialist or experimental treatments not funded by the NHS.

Azaylia herself had a rare cancer that relapsed, and her family had to seek treatment outside the NHS – so we truly understand the challenges faced by the families we support.

About the Azaylia Treatment Fund

The Azaylia Treatment Fund has been set up to help families pay for treatment not available on the NHS for their child.

If accepted, the Azaylia Treatment Fund will directly donate up to £10,000 to the child’s GoFundMe.

The Azaylia Treatment Fund exists for one reason: to help children get the treatment they need, when they need it – while reducing the stress families face when accessing treatment and, most importantly, fueling hope.

How to apply to the Azaylia Treatment Fund

The Azaylia Foundation asks families, at the very start of their child’s cancer fundraising journey, to create a certified charity GoFundMe fundraiser for The Azaylia Foundation.

The GoFundMe Page will act as an official application to the Treatment Fund, and all funds raised will go into a specialist treatment “piggy bank” that will be managed by the Foundation to pay treatment providers and cover logistics, such as travel and hotels directly – taking stress off families.

You will need to provide Azaylia with a letter from the treatment institution and, when possible, from the child’s oncologist consultant to help verify the treatment to be funded.

Regardless of whether you receive a direct donation from our Treatment Fund, the page will also be promoted on the Azaylia Foundation’s social media pages, with regular updates sent to the community.

If a child and their family no longer require the funds for treatment, or if any donations remain after all costs are covered, those funds will be transferred into the Azaylia Foundation Treatment Fund to help support other families on similar journeys.

Unfortunately, the Foundation cannot accept referrals from fundraising pages that have already been set up, but if a family already has their own GoFundMe, they can run this alongside the treatment fundraiser.

The Azaylia Foundation is committed to supporting families from the very beginning of their journey – not just at the end.
