The Flawed Hero Marathon is returning in 2025

From GoFundMe partners, Flawed Hero:

On the 26th April there will be over 200 people standing in front of an iconic startline, the Broadway Cinema in Letchworth Garden City, counting down the minutes to midnight.

As soon as we welcome the 27th April, the day of the TCS London Marathon, we will experience the journey of 26.2miles whilst the world is sleeping.

The Flawed Hero Marathon 2024 was an incredible experience. Forty men stood at the Broadway Cinema in Letchworth at midnight. Over 30 of them had never come close to running 26.2 miles or completing a marathon before.

2025 is about everyone. It’s about cultivating incredible stories. We want inclusivity. All shapes, sizes, backgrounds, stories. People who have run before and those who never felt they would, should, could, or be deserving of completing a marathon.

Our course features a safe, loop-system event with numerous touch points and full support.

Total Raised: £19,452

Right, the exciting stuff:

  • You will be supported throughout. Not just advice on running, but many aspects of health & wellness
  • You will be part of an incredible fundraising collective. The aim is a minimum of £100K. 90% of the fundraising will go to Pancreatic Cancer UK, who are the Official Charity of the Year for the TCS London Marathon

The Cause:

With the help of GoFundMe, we can watch our collective pot grow, and see the significant difference we will be making to the lives of others.

We’ve all had our lives affected by cancer. I have personally lost both my parents to this cruel disease.

Pancreatic Cancer is the deadliest common cancer. The brutal reality is that diagnosis comes far too late for most people. Half of people die within three months of diagnosis. And research into the disease is underfunded and left behind. So, families are left with only hope to hang on to.

But hope is not enough. The disease must be detected sooner.

And it can be.

Thanks to the work of amazing researchers, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding. That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting this incredible charity.
