On Monday July 1 2024, Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Carriacou, an island which is part of Grenada. Beryl became the earliest storm to develop into a Category 5 hurricane, with winds of up to 165mph. It has now hit Jamaica. Several people have died as a result of the hurricane and hundreds more homes and businesses destroyed.
