Name/Gender Marker Change

My name is Emmy and I’m trying to get the funds together to get my name and gender marker legally changed. I’m over a year and a half on testosterone and had top surgery last May. This is the last step for me so I can stop being questioned by strangers who check my ID. The filing fee in California is $450 which is a lot when I live on my own, pay all my bills and have to make sure I’m eating too. Living in the Bay Area is tough.
