DC Fitness Discrimination Vandalism Repair

My name is Myah Carson. My father, Derrick Carson, is the owner of Gray Tennessee’s DC Fitness. I have never met someone so hands on with their own business. He doesn’t hire tons of people to do all the hard work for him, he works with all of his employees equally as hard, if not 10x harder to keep his gym alive and happy. Every member at his fitness center knows and loves who Derrick Carson is. There are, however, the unfortunate few individuals who don’t approve of his thriving in the community due to his race. My black father has built his life from the ground up and he has always been a fighter. Today, he got to the gym, earlier than sunrise, to find the words “WHITE POWER” scraped on the side walk in front of the front door for all to see. Even though he’s so strong and so much more than the sad people who vandalized racist slogans front and center of my fathers empire, I can’t imagine how heart broken he must feel. Being one of the small group of black men who own businesses in our little area, working harder than he ever had to keep this place of positivity and encouragement open for the community. He has risked it all for this place of health and friendship. Since this type of thing happens more than it should, first off, awareness should be spread. If you were raised to be small minded with no growing room, that’s fine. There is absolutely no reason, however, to spread your hateful heart to those who have never personally wronged you. I feel, and I think a lot of others will feel as well, that my dad deserves something wonderful out of this disgusting act of a coward. I would like to raise a total of $1500 for some good quality concrete paint, painting supplies, and a couple new cameras that he will have better access to. I know he’s never the type to admit when he’s really struggling, so I don’t really know what his plan is with this, I just want to help. In my heart, I believe that I’m not the only one who wants to help do something to limit these things from happening. Thank you all for reading this unfortunate call for help, but I know my father is very loved, and anyone who knows him would want to see him do nothing but thrive. Any amount is going to be so greatly appreciated.
