Walking for Our Warriors
Donation protected
Marty Wills is setting out on a mission to educate, encourage and bring hope to the service men, women, and their families. On Memorial Day, May 30, 2016 he will be leaving Fruitport, MI to hike to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. A trek that he expects will take approximately 1,060 miles and up to 60 days to complete.
The walk is his way to educate the public on the 22-a-day suicide rate among veterans and those who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress. This mission is personal to Marty. He is himself a veteran who served for 10 years in the Army and 13.5 years in the Navy as a corpsman. He has witnessed the effects PTS has on our service members.
Marty will be stopping at VFW’s, American Legions, and VA’s along the way to speak and encourage our veterans. He also will be using this hike to educate the public and collect donations to go directly to 22Kill. An organization that uses its funds to support veterans with PTS. If you’d like more information about this organization, please follow the link provided. https://www.22kill.com/
While Marty has set aside $1,000 of his own money per month to fund his hike he does realize a portion of the funds collected will need to be used for the hike. He anticipates donating the majority (75%) or more to the charity 22Kill.
Please help Marty educate, support, and honor our vets by providing a donation today.
(Our website/blog is under construction. Please be patient. We hope to have it up and running this weekend. Thank you)
