28 year old stroke survivor
Donation protected
Stephanie is a 28 year old single mother of a 4 year old boy whos just started primary school, from Friday the 23rd of August her life changed drastically, she suffered a massive life threatening stroke of which only 1 in 10 survive.
Only for the attention of detail by our father that she was late dropping her son to him so she could go to work, he called tp her house 50 yards away to find her unconscious on her bedroom floor and her son asleep in her bed.
With the quick thinking of her eldest brother to check her phone and found that at 7.57am she sent a message to a friend and found a selfie(see above) taken at 8.21am she was found at 8.36am.
This information is what saved her life and gave the hospital the time frame they needed of when the stroke occured so they could give the anticloting medication but she still only had a 10% chance of survival and then to be told she might not make the trip to beaumount where a team of surgeons where waiting to operate and even that was risky.
She had an angio-seal done and they found the medication worked and is here to tell her story.
They also found the cause to her stroke was a hole in her heart that she is now awaiting surgery on to close and the contraceptive patch.
She has to use a walking stick to keep her balance is on daily medication and is partially blind in her right eye due to the stroke and had to attend the Ophthalmologist team in beumont to try and help her vision and to train her eye again.
As she is unable to work and has a a very long road to recovery with work not covering sick pay we as a family have decided to set up this page to take the stress of bills and everyday life off of her
This money will be used for:
Travel expenses
Rehab in dunlaoirghe
Modifications to her home
And car( if needed)
Rent
Everyday life
We would like to thank you all in advance as this is the last resort in the making a better life for Stephanie and her son.
Any money left over will be donated to to beaumount and wexford stroke units
