Let’s show some love

Let me introduce to you Colleen Cail, a dear friend and a single mother of four.

Colleen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Invasive Metastatic Breast Cancer just this past summer. 

She has been fighting hard to beat this refusing to let her children grow up without her.   I have been so proud of her fight and determination.

She spend nearly 6 months in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy but on Christmas Eve it was discovered that inspite of all her treatment, that the cancer again had metastasized. She now had two brain tumors and another in her spine. 

She further deteriorated in the coming days and before New Years Eve she had to be hospitalized. Her pain had become insurmountable and walking became impossible unassisted.

It was decided to try radiation this time. She received radiation on her brain and spine. Thus far the results have not been positive. Her pain has only increased and she no longer has the use of her hands and legs.

To add insult to an already heartbreaking situation her Disability Provider, for this working Mom, has refused her claim for benefits citing a technicality. Which is just ridiculous and inconceivable.

Colleen's outcome is in God's hands now. She is still fighting bravely and we know she will continue to do so no matter what her prognosis.

It is especially hard on her and those that love her because of COVID. She can no longer have visitors and she has not seen her little girls and held them in her arms since the 1st of January. They are heartbroken. 

She is confused with all the medication and the side effects of radiation. She is all alone and we can not help or comfort her during this time. Her family and friends are heartbroken.

Being a local paramedic that lost my house in a fire on August 11, 2020 and a co-worker set me up a page to help me. I know how grateful I was and am for our community support.
