Nicholas Cornelius

My husband, Nick who is 32 has spent 10 days in the ICU and is now in a regular room at the hospital. He lost the use of his legs after being bit by a mosquito that carried West Nile Virus. Less than 1% of people who get WNV have the serious effects of what my husband got. For days he was mentally altered and the Dr's didn't know if he had permanent brain damage. We have two small children (3yr old and 5month old) who miss him more than anything. There was a mistake with our health insurance and we just found out we don't have any. The state has denied us any help as well even though my husband currently doesn't have a job because our business unfortunately didn't make it and had to be closed down in December. He has been watching the children while I work. The Dr's said Nick's only chance to walking again is extensive rehabilitation therapy. I am working but paying for daycare for two children and we don't have the money for therapy or the huge amount of hospital bills that are still incurring. Our children haven't seen him in almost two weeks and the only thing Nick wants to do is be able to one day run and play with the kids again.
