POC Queer SW needs help w medical costs & rent

our dear friend and comrade is in need of some community love and care right now. They just turned 19, and though they’ve been doing their best to acheive stability on their own, they could really use some assistance right now. They have no safety net to fall back on- unlike many folks, their parents can’t help them (their mother is currently unhoused also). After battling homelessness for years, they finally secured a room with their cat in a safe place. For the first time, they are on the verge of financial independence- they have been putting on a brave face during all of this, but with the passing of a closed friend in addition to long term generational struggles as a POC queer, they need some extra help.

This week, they will be entering inpatient care and getting professional help. 

During this time, they won’t be able to work. We really want our friend to have a place to stay when they discharge from the hospital. The American healthcare system continues to fail low income people of color and queer folks, the fact that they won’t be able to afford rent simply because they are receiving necessary  mental heath care is loathesome. So please PLEASE help if you can; share with everyone, send it to your parents and rich friends! The system continues to fail us, but the community will not!!
