Jason's KLS Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi Guys, I'm Jason.
I've been diagnosed with a rare neurological/sleep disorder called Kleine-Levin Syndrome (better known as KLS) for the past five years.
Having KLS means that every few months, I fall asleep for about two weeks straight. During these episodes, I'm only awake for a few minutes, to eat, drink, and use the bathroom. When I am awake, nothing feels real and I experience severe depression and anxiety, among other symptoms. (A more scientific explanation can be found here and here .)
As you can guess, this has been difficult; emotionally, mentally, financially. And we need help.
Due to recent episodes, the medical expenses have been adding up. They are more than we can handle, since KLS limits me from working full-time. I also had to quit college due to the frequency fo the episodes.
My wife and I are trying to avoid going deeper into debt because of the expenses and we are asking those who can help, to do so. Many of the bills have not yet come and more tests are needed, hence the question marks below, so the total need may change.
Needs not covered by insurance:
CPAP- $628
CPAP copay- $180
Sleep Study #1- $1100
Sleep Doctor- $280
Tuition due back: $375
Psychiatrist: $195
Therapist: $240
EEG: ?
Neurologist: ?
Cleveland Clinic: ?
Sleep Study #2: ?
Thank you for your help in advance. We both dearly apprecicate all the help, be it financial, physically giving time to help, and/or prayers. May God bless you for blessing us.
