Running For A Reason 2013
Donation protected
On October 13th,
2013 I will be running the Chicago
Marathon (26.2 miles) :.AGAIN:.both to try
and beat my time from last year: and, of course, to help raise money for
children with physical impairments through our ATI Foundation. I was able
to raise almost $2,500 in 2012, and hope to surpass this amount in 2013.
Getting a spot in this year's marathon was a little trickier than last year. I ended up entering into a lottery system and through that system was one of 15,000 runners chosen from a pool of over 36,000! I think I got lucky (lucky to run a marathon?). I am very grateful that it worked out and I can now focus on training and fundraising!
I've already started my training this year, and last weekend Kyle and I ran the Soldier Field 10 Mile race (his first race ever)! It went really well as I hope the rest of the summer training does. So far the weather hasn't been nearly as hot as it was last year, so I am thankful for that! My longest run thus far was 13.14 miles which I just did yesterday. So training is progressing well!
With each mile I run I try to keep in mind the children that are dealing with much bigger struggles in life than I am in training for a marathon. I use this as motivation to keep my legs moving so that I can help out as many kids as possible with the donations that I am able to raise.
Please help in any way that you can, whether emotional/moral support for myself, or in the form of a donation that will truly help out a child in need!
Thank you in advance for your support as I again embark on my mission to complete another marathon!
