Griselda Pena's Medical Expenses

Hey! My name is Grismely and I have created this fundraiser for my amazing mother who is currently in the ICU recovering from multiple surgeries. She was initially scheduled for a hysterectomy but ended up undergoing 3 different surgical procedures in 1 surgery due to unforeseen circumstances. After 3 painful & restless days in the recovery room where she received multiple blood transfusions, she was rushed back into the operating room to drain a hematoma. During this surgery, the doctors had to additionally remove her appendix and left ovary. She will also be undergoing a procedure to treat her gallbladder in the upcoming weeks.

It has been a very emotional and scary experience for all fortunately, she is currently in stable condition (& will continue this way <3).

My mother is one of the strongest and bravest people I know. All I wish for her is a speedy and peaceful recovery period. One where she does not have to worry about where she will find the funds to cover her expenses. This has all been physically, emotionally and mentally challenging for her. I do not have enough money to rid her of this stress, so I am asking you all to please consider donating or sharing. Any and every amount helps.

Get to know my mom:

My mother is a cashier at a small deli in Washington Heights. She is the heart and soul of that business, as she is in our home. She loves to connect and foster meaningful relationships with everyone she crosses paths with. She is sassy, makes everyone laugh, full of life, and selfless. If you've met my mom, then you've also probably tasted her food or are dying to try it. She is super creative and passionate about cooking and will never let anyone go hungry. She is everyone's #1 supporter. Absolutely everybody feels comfortable speaking with her about whatever is on their mind. She does not judge but she will be honest. She wants the best for everyone. I could go on forever but you might just have to meet her and witness for yourself.
