Memorial Bench in Honor of Frank Wheeler

In May of 2022, my husband Frank "Buddy" Wheeler was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, or GBM. He had surgery the end of May, and was such a trooper when he had to go through chemo and radiation while also rehabilitating to try to regain his ability to walk, which he had lost after surgery. Unfortunately, he was unable to walk again. He missed walking around our neighborhood and seeing the neighbors and the mailman, and also missed keeping the neighborhood clean. Occasionally he was able to get into a wheelchair, and when he did, we would go down to the end of Skyview Way to look out over the valley or watch the sunset. We had frequently watched the sunset from there over the many years we have lived here. We also watched the Newtown fireworks from there, and the kids would sled on the hill. It's a very meaningful spot for us.

Frank, who is an Army Veteran who served for 3 years, including a year in Chu Li Vietnam, passed away on Dec. 31, 2023 after a valiant fight.

I am asking for donations* to install a park bench in his honor at the end of Skyview Way, a place where our family can go and reminisce, and for other visitors to experience the beautiful vista that we did.
