Help Sara and Fatma's family evacuate Gaza

Donation protected
Hello, I'm Maram, and I've launched this campaign to help my friend Sara, who is currently facing a dire situation in Gaza. Sara and her family have been displaced and forced to move multiple times since October of last year.

Sara has been able to write her own story, and this is it:

My name is Sara Abu Nada, and I’m a young Palestinian nurse living in Northern Gaza. I’m 20 years old, and I’m currently in a horrible situation because of the continued crisis in Gaza. I volunteered my time in our hospitals to help the sick and injured, but now I’m in need of your urgent help and support to get out of Rafah safely and pursue my dreams.

My main goal in life was to complete my education so I could provide appropriate care to all patients and build a stable and rewarding career out of it. I also aspired to travel and learn about other cultures. But since the increasingly dangerous escalations in Gaza began in October, my dreams and those of the ones around me began to turn to dust.

My dreams for tomorrow turned into nightmares.

Since the beginning of this war, our pain hasn’t stopped, the killing hasn’t stopped, and the displacement hasn’t stopped. Even now, as I write this letter, it is still unconceivable to me that after all this, I stand here with my hands tied, awaiting my turn to die before I can achieve my dreams and aspirations.

On the 16th of October 2023, our neighbor's house got bombed, which killed my 3 year old niece. My mother, my brother, my sister-in-law, and my sister sustained injuries. The bombardment caused our home to be uninhabitable, leaving us with no choice but leave our home in the north to go to Khan Younis, in the south, with my family of 10.

We have had to survive shortages of food and water, along with other necessities. All the while, I pushed onwards, dedicating myself to volunteering at the European hospital in Gaza to help provide relief to the children of Gaza in any way that I knew how.

On the 9th of December 2023, my family and I were forced to move again from Khan Younis to Rafah under threat of a ground invasion by the Israeli Occupation Forces.

We arrived to Rafah shocked by the even greater scarcity of food and drinkable water, as well as the pollution and the crowded conditions caused by millions being packed into an area measuring less than 150 square kilometers.

Our current conditions are unlivable and inhumane. We are dying a slow death: one by hunger, thirst, and the rampant spread of illness, if not by the violent and horrifying bombings Gaza is subjected to constantly.

For all these reasons, I need your help to leave Rafah safely with my family, to save us from these dire conditions and our impending death. Time is of the essence; every donation, regardless of the amount, will bring us one step closer to safely leaving Rafah and to saving our lives.

This is my sister, Fatma, 26 years old.

Fatma studied at Al-Quds Open University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. She traveled to find a job and achieve many of her dreams, but she was not lucky in finding a suitable job for her.
Fatma returned to Gaza. She did not give up and decided to study nursing to help people, she studied for one year, but did not complete her education because of the war.

One of my other siblings, Hassan, also enrolled into nursing school, but could not finish his education due to the war.
