Life Saving Surgery

This week, I have made a very important decision that will affect the rest of my life. After much consideration and weighing pros and cons, I have elected to have gastric bypass surgery. Those that know me know that I have tried very hard over the years to lose weight only for it to come back. While I could do it myself, my life is at stake and the benefits far outweigh the risks at this point. To qualify you have to have at least 2 obesity related conditions. I have 5 possibly a 6th (still waiting on testing). The most harmful conditions are diabetes and high blood pressure. Additionally, my liver is enlarged and is what they call fatty liver. If I don't do the weight loss surgery, its possible that I'd need a liver transplant in 3-5 years. This was a tough decision but I believe I've made the right decision and I'm excited!! I'd love your prayers for the remainder of tests to go well. I'd also love fundraising ideas. While my insurance will cover most of the procedures, I will not have enough paid time off at work. I'd need to cover at least 2 weeks. PRAY for me. Thank you! Let the journey begin!!
