Grateful Americans Coming Together for the Bahamas

Donation protected
We are all so grateful that we were spared the wrath of Hurricane Dorian. Today, we are raising funds to help our unfortunate neighbors in the Bahamas whose lives have been completely devastated.

If you want to help, this is your chance help victims in need with no corporate overhead expenses.

Here is our plan:

The situation on the ground in the Bahamas is dynamic, complex, and fluid as is usually the case in a disaster zone. Our ultimate goal is helping fire departments however.... we have evacuated a family and they are now in our  Jax beach office. We have a temporary home for them.

We have a fire department at ground zero that has been destroyed and asking for help in recovery.

We have other families that are in need of help. If we raise ore more money we will take on more family's.

If you know of a church or other group that would like to adopt family please contact me immediately. We have Bahamian families that want to come here temporarily.

- Project updates will be provided regularly and a final financial analysis will be made public at the end of this project.
- All funds received and spent will be carefully reviewed by Pivot CPAs in Jacksonville, FL. Pivot will provide a post-event financial report of all donations received, all items purchased and delivered to the port for distribution to assure all donors that their contributions were managed effectively.

Thank you for your consideration as we aim to help those who are in desperate need of help.

                   ---------------------------------

For transparency, this was our original proposal.

                    ---------------------------------

We have managed several hurricane relief efforts and we have found a better way.

In the past, we have gathered disaster recovery supplies from generous donors and physically delivered them directly to the disaster zone. In this process, we would end up with a truckload of random, miscellaneous items. Most items were valuable, but we also had items like Lysol and mouse traps that people thought would be helpful.

These miscellaneous items were packed and shipped in random grocery bags and boxes, then spread out at the disaster zone for people to rummage through. It was not the most effective way to serve those in need.

Our plan for this storm is different.  It’s much smarter.

- We will raise money to purchase the items most in demand.
- We will drive to the Costco located in West Palm Beach, FL  (the closest store to the closest seaport to the Bahamas).
- We will acquire the specific items most requested by Bahamian officials on the ground at the time of the purchase.
- We will transport the items from Costco in West Palm Beach to pre-screened volunteer boats headed to the Bahamas.
- 100% of funds received from this campaign will be spent on disaster supplies.
- Any miscellaneous fees such as shipping and transport incurred will be paid by project sponsors.
