A Shelter from the Storm

We are raising money to repair and replace the roof of the house our brother, Sterling, has lived in for over fifty years. He has suffered from severe schizophrenia since he was in his late teens. He is now 72 years old.
The house was our mother’s house. She cared for him until she died. In a sometimes hostile world, he has said it is the ONLY place he feels safe in this world. He belongs there if nowhere else. He wants to live there for the rest of his life.
But the roof is decades old. It's leaking and the already extensive damage is getting worse. Our brother Jim lives with him now and takes care of him. Their only income is Social Security and they can’t afford to repair the roof.
The neighbors in his neighborhood have started a GoFundMe as well, for the same purpose, to raise money for a roof repair and replacement. A picture of the roof is included there. Here is a link to that fundraiser: https://www.gofundme.com/f/longterm-disabled-resident-needs-a-new-roof. Please donate to either one. All the funds will go to repair and then replace the roof.
