Help me install SolarPanels in Africa!
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
I want to go to South Africa to install Solar Panels and I need your help!!!....
I am about to finish up my last term as an Energy Management student, here in Eugene Oregon. It has been very rewarding but also a very challenging program. The course work is preparing me to work in the sustainability/energy conservation industry which could include thermal and solar technologies, building energy use auditing, conservation strategies, and more.
As a wrap up to the degree, my program coordinator has put together an amazing opportunity to do a two week study abroad trip to South Africa to install Solar Panel arrays at a small Community College located outside of Johannesburg. The school was founded in 1908 under the AME (African Methodist Episcopal) church, and has since gone through many hardships and restructuring. In recent years it has partnered with the schools in the USA to teach their students sustainability and business skills. If you want to learn more about the school and it's history visit http://wilberforcecommunitycollege.wozaonline.co.za/
There is limited space available for students to go, which I currently have already called "dibs" on a spot but I need to have the funding to back it up. I have till the end of May to secure all of the funding...And that's where I need your help! I have nailed down $1000 already, but I need an additional $2500 to be able to go! Nearly half of the money is going towards air fare; the other half is going towards food, lodging, and a small cultural excursion we will do while we are there...
Again, this is such an amazing opportunity; it will both enhance my educational foundation as well as broaden my cultural diversity. And I may never get an experience like this again!
Any amount of donation will be accepted and GREATLY Appreciated.... $5, $10, $20.... $100?? This is a great host site that is helping me do the fundraising; it works just like Paypal. You go through the transaction process on their secure site, then it notifies me and I can withdraw the money as I wish.
Also, friends here in the Eugene area I am willing to take back cans or pennies or whatever other elementary way of fundraising you can think of.... HELP ME GO TO SOUTH AFRICA!
Much Love!!
Amy
PS.. Feel free to msg me if you have any questions or would like to know more about it.
